Here is another model that was played worldwide from Chile in 1962. This ball was the first to change their wedges for elongated octagons, which as we get closer to the typical design made by pentagons and hexagons, first proposed by Adolf Dassler, the founder of Adidas. The early years of football, the ball used was very different to current, rather its design was identical to a basketball as you can see in the picture.


This model was comprised of 8 segments elongated, sewn like a basketball. All segments were joined at the two poles of the ball, particularly in a octagon-shaped wedge.


This ball belongs in early 1900. Today, some models are well preserved.
